How Does This Work?

When you click the LOGIN button on this website, you’ll be directed to either login or create a login. This login allows you access to sign up for any upcoming event. You’re also welcome to walk-in and join us on any given Saturday. Space is sometimes limited, so sign-ups are always given priority.

  • Games will be held every Saturday. You should arrive by 5:30pm, earlier if you'd like to finish dining before the game starts. Character sheets and dice will be provided. Approx. 5:50pm, game pitches will be presented by the night's GM's and players will take their seats. Games begin at 6pm; Late arrivals are allowed at each GM's discretion. Play will continue through the close of business at 8pm. Food orders will need to be placed no later than 7:30pm. Games will last between 2 and 3 hours. All players must be off premises at 9pm.

  • We regularly run D&D 5e, with other editions sometimes popping up as well as other TTRPGs. If you or someone you know wants a place to try out another game (Blades in the dark, Kids on Bikes, Dadlands, etc.) feel free to shoot us a Contact Us form, or just show up and see how it goes.

  • Hello current and prospective GMs, each time you run a game at the event, you gain:

1 $20 gift card to Bantam and Biddy

1 GM Token redeemable at the event for 100gp

Alternatively, you can choose to spend GM tokens to have an admin run a game for you. See below for details.

The cost of the game is determined by 6 factors:

    1. Game type

    2. Game tier

    3. Game system

    4. Party size

    5. Non-GM responsibilities

    6. # of games

    Definitions:

    • Gm's Choice: A unique game made by the GM which is acceptable to the players.

    • Tailored: A game specifically tailored to the request of one or more players. Examples include: fighting a specific creature, a specific genre, or set in a specific non-D&D world.

    1. Game types

    A. a prewritten oneshot

    B. a prewritten adventure or a GM's choice oneshot.

    C. a GM's choice adventure or a tailored oneshot

    D. a GM's choice campaign or a tailored adventure

    2. Game tiers

*Assuming games are using DND 5e/5.5e, tiers are broken into the following levels:

    11-425-10311-16417-22523-29

Note: Levels above 23 have not been play-tested and may not be balanced.

    3. Game systems

Systems are split into the following categories:

    I. D&D 5e/5.5e content that is <10 years old

    II. D&D 5e, any

III. Monster of the week or Daggerheart

IV. Blades in the Dark, Candela Obscura, or Kids on Bikes

    V. D&D 3.5e, Never Stop Exploding, FATE, or Powered by the Apocapalypse systems

Other game systems will be decided on a case by case basis

    4. Party Size

A party size of 3 to 6 is standard. For each player above 6 or below 3, an additional token will be required.

    5. Non-Gm responsibilities

It is assumed that the admin will have to work with the player(s) to determine an acceptable time and location.

Any services requested beyond the writing and running of the game may require additional expense.

For example, if you want the admin to personally host and cater the game, it is up to him/her to determine what that is worth.

    6. # of games

The above systems assume a single game.

However, you can redeem an additional GM token to extend an adventure or campaign per session up to it's conclusion.

This can be done upfront or game by game.

If players drop out or change, it is up to the admin whether to continue or require additional tokens to change the story to fit the new situation.

Civility reigns! While you can discuss political, sexual, and religious topics, any form of hostility or incivility will not be tolerated.

FAQs

  • Yes they are! No problem if you've never played before. Regular players have a wide range of experience, and are always happy to help. GMs (“Game Masters”; see also “Dungeon Masters” or DMs) always run newbie-friendly adventures unless otherwise advertised.

  • We will always have Pre-generated (pregen) character sheets for D&D 5e Lv3. Each GM (Game Master) is responsible for bringing pregen sheets if they plan to run a different RPG, or dnd at another level. If you would like to bring your own character, feel free to reach out to your GM and ask what their restriction may be. We plan to improve communication in the future, currently the best way to reach out is to use the Contact Us form on this site.

  • The best way, in our opinion, to learn to GM is to play with as many GMs as you can, gather what you liked about each game, and then use it to run your own. Our event is open to GMs of all stages starting at ‘first time ever’ running a game. Feel free to ask other GMs questions or advice. If you’re a seasoned GM, we’d love to have you run a table!

If you have another tabletop system in mind, great! We’re open to all TTRPGs. Just shoot us a Contact Us or have a quick chat with an Admin at the event so we can properly set up for the night you’re running your game.

  • Of course! Most games most nights are one-shots, so GMs are prepared to run games for players they may never see again. While creating community and opportunities for recurring play is our goal, there is nothing barring us from offering games for folks passing through looking to try out or scratch that RPG itch!

  • There is parking around the corner in the Truist parking garage on Cherry Street for an hourly rate. More affordable street parking is also available all around Bantam & Biddy and becomes free after 6pm.

  • Because players are allowed to remain on premises after close of business to the public, our host venue requires that all players be at least 18 years of age. *Exceptions can be made with certain stipulations on a case-by-case basis and must be agreed upon by the GM of said game.

  • If you are accompanying someone who’s playing at the table, you're welcome as their guest; indeed, many folks do invite their less experienced friends or partners to come join them at the table, either in ‘coplay’ or just to watch. Still, you should always ask for permission from the rest of the table–-both GM and other players.

  • There are many opinions and resources about this and related topics, but a great place to start is a short video from Matt Mercer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9X2Tz7QegM

Here's another solid one; while some topics are more oriented toward homegames than our public meetups, each topic is outlined and clickable so you can scroll ahead! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3K76Q6mODs

Generally, be respectful of others and try to let everyone have their moment in the sun, and you should be fine.
